CARTER, Linwood Foreman Jr., 91

CARTER, Linwood Foreman Jr., 91, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord, January 6, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years and mother of his children, Juanita Carter; his daughter, Nita Gayle Rivers. He is survived by his wife, Madeline R. Carter; son,Wayne R. Carter Sr. and his wife, Sharon; daughter, Lynn C. Smyth; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Lois Moring; many loving extended family members. Linwood proudly served his country during WWII as a Sergeant in the USMC. He was the founder and operator of Carter Printing Company for 20 years. His hobbies included training field trial beagle dogs and raising homing pigeons. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to everyone at Hanover Manor for their extraordinary care and compassion for our loved one. The family will receive friends at Bliley’s-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., Sunday, 4 to 7 p.m., where a Celebration of Life will be held on Monday at 12 p.m. Interment Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
