Employment Opportunity: Production Supervisor – Press and Finishing

This position reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for directing and supervising manufacturing associates to achieve scheduling commitments and job specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and assist manufacturing associates in work assignments in conjunction with internal and external customers
- Prepare a wide variety of schedules, reports, and forms to keep all associates informed of the current status of jobs and progress within the department
- Plan and manage the workflow of the shift’s day to day operations
- Coordinate maintenance and repair of equipment when required
- Enforce and encourage company safety policies and procedures to control and prevent workplace injuries
- Plan, lead, and conduct team meetings to communicate safety, quality, procedures, and production needs
- Actively train and develop associates
- Provides guidance, direction, and mentoring on all company policy and procedures affecting employees
- Participate, develop, and lead process improvement initiatives to achieve business success
Skills and Requirements:
- Proven knowledge of manufacturing processes currently being performed, including printing, binding, imposition, and imaging, cutting and converting
- Five or more years of pressroom and/or bindery experience with progressive responsibilities, including management of employees
- Team-oriented management style with demonstrated people management and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Problem solving skills
- MIS systems experience a plus
- Detail oriented
- Excellent time management skills
- Basic computer skills- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work on feet ten (10) or more hours
- Ability to work weekends/holidays if necessary
