Driver- Class B CDL

This position reports to the Shipping Department Manager and is responsible for the safe transporting of freight from the production facility to the customer. The role will require excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

 

Salary: $17 - $25 based on experience and ability

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implements safe and efficient operating procedures while meeting established schedules
  • Efficiently load and/or unload freight using proper freight handling equipment
  • Responsible for securing the equipment and/or freight
  • Responsible for both dock and inside delivery processes
  • Receive and verify dispatch instructions properly and timely
  • Complete daily log when required and all other necessary paperwork
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle and equipment
  • Perform duties in a manner that promotes and maintains superior customer service
  • Communicate with managers/supervisors to receive instructions, report delays or safety hazards
  • Maintain and update driving and safety skills

 

Skills and Requirements

  • Must be 21 or older
  • Must possess a valid Class B CDL
  • Must be medically qualified to operate in interstate commerce
  • Must pass drug screen, a physical performance test and driving test on company equipment
  • Must have a current motor vehicle report that represents a history of safe and competent driving
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and experience
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers effectively
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs. on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook)
  • Other duties as assigned
